Because almost no one visits my website, I can't really say that these are frequently asked questions. But they have been asked by someone at some point at least once.
- Why thepenry.net?
- I'm very egotistical. Not really -- penry.net was already taken.
- No, I mean what's the point of thepenry.net?
- Oh, not much really. At first I had great plans of making a site where my family members could easily post pictures and send family newsletters. Kind of like those Family websites out there, but just for my family, and free. I never got around to it. The site became a placeholder with a brief biography. After training in massage, I added the Bodyworks section. Since then, I've used the space as a test bed for various projects, and a place that I could store forum avatars and other such nonsense.
- Why am I here?
- Most likely you are looking for the Voxware MetaSound codec. According to my statistics, 98% of my visitors are here for that. 1% are looking for "nude massage Cleveland" and the like, but I'm assuming they are looking for something other than what I do. The other 1% is me, checking to see if the server that this site resides on is up.
- You bio says you are a web designer. Shouldn't a web designer's home page be super cool?
- You'd think. But honestly, I don't have much time to spend working on my homepage. Even as passionate as I am about web programming, after working 10 hours or so for clients, I don't really feel much like working on my site. I actually spend a lot of free time working on and contributing to my friend and business partner's website. Still, there is something to be said for simplicity.
- Why not make thepenry.net into a blog?
- Because I don't feel the need to post every thought I have onto the net. And no journal either, I don't want everyone knowing every detail of my life. I mean really, it's not that interesting. Maybe I'll make some sort of PHP script that makes up fake journal entries, that would be way cooler. Anything interesting I have to say I write in article form and post at either the Artistic Network, or at Shawn Olson's website.
- What can I expect in the future at thepenry.net?
- Nothing. Please don't. I have some plans, such as pages devoted to finding long lost friends from high school, and of course the family only portion. But, alas, these are only plans.
- Any cooler places than this that I should check out?
- Sure, tons. But I'm not about to dilute my strangly awesome pagerank of 4 with a bunch of links. Except for this link to the best Florida villas and vacation homes. You should check that out.
